Host to the 2004 Spanish Open this beautifully designed and maintained 18 hole golf paradise enables guests to be challenged 365 days a year. Situated between the sea and the mountains and lined by swaying palm trees its difficulties are associated with the breeze and stunning water features. The course, a par 70 and 6049 metres from the championship tee’s, is mainly flat apart from the 17th & 18 holes and is connected together with buggy paths.For those wishing to practice, there is a 50 bay driving range area, a putting green and a separate green for chipping and bunker shots. Professional tuition is always close at hand and all equipment including buggies can be hired from the clubhouse.

Currently no handicap certificate is required.

The 5 Star Elba Palace Golf Hotel and clubhouse host a first class restaurant and bar with terraces & gardens overlooking the green, a large pro-shop and changing rooms. These marvellous facilities and the 1st tee are just a minute’s walk from Villa Palmera and can be enjoyed at discounted rates for guests of the villa.
Big game fishing
The amazing climate & volcanic sea beds with depths of 3500 metres mean that the Canaries are a deep-sea fishing paradise and a leading location for enthusiasts. There are a huge variety of fish to catch including enormous Tuna, Marlin & Swordfish. The world record Mako shark weighing 488kg was caught by an English man (who had never fished before) while on holiday in the Canaries! You can also see Dolphins, Whales, Flying fish & Turtles while out on a boat.

Top class dive centres on the island including one in Caleta offering opportunities for both beginners & advanced divers. Visibility is exceptional at 30 meters or more with water temperatures between 18 & 23degC. There is plenty to see with the volcanic rock formations, reefs, wrecks and an enormous diversity of marine life.

Surfing

The Island is also a Mecca for surfers & windsurfers. In July the island hosts the P.W.A. world speed and slalom windsurfing event at Sotovento on the south of the island.

Other activities include, camel excursions, horse riding, jeep safari, sailing,kite surfing, jet ski’s & wet bikes, mountain biking, off road motorbiking, tennis and bowling.
